Defying Gravity

Wednesday arrives, once again, peering over the fence and then banging on the window, begging to be let in. Okay, okay! I’m coming. It is already time to write to you even though I swear I was just frantically typing last Wednesday morning, from across the ocean, gathering some amount of marbles of the ones that have scattered everywhere.

The going is getting/got tough, these times are beleaguered and cruel, I am rolling my eyes at myself and sucking my teeth at my contemporaries. I write, here, again, even when exasperated and disgusted, to keep the small flame of my allegiance to that force—(sometimes called life, sometimes called love, sometimes mistaken, often ignored) that cannot be squished—flickering. Sometimes it’s thin as a hair, sometimes we try to make it bend and submit even in ourselves, and it still stands, dignified, triumphant:

Video brought to you by one of my all time besties, thank you Maddy!
